Detroit Homecoming 2026

A City in Motion

What is Detroit Homecoming?

Detroit Homecoming is an annual, invitation-based experience created for Detroit expats—those who grew up, went to school, or built early careers in metro Detroit and now live elsewhere.

Guided by the theme A City in Motion, the event reconnects you to Detroit through immersive programming, candid conversations, and curated experiences that showcase the people, neighborhoods, and ideas driving the city forward. It’s designed to spark renewed connection—whether that leads to new relationships, investments, partnerships, or ways to give back.

For expats traveling back to Detroit, there is no cost to attend. Thanks to the support of local foundations and corporate partners, attendees can fully engage with the city—its culture, cuisine, and momentum—throughout the experience.

Who can attend?

Detroit Homecoming is a gathering of accomplished former Detroiters who are helping shape industries, organizations, and communities around the world — and who are interested in playing a role in Detroit's next chapter.

If you grew up, attended school, or built part of your career in metro Detroit and now live outside Michigan, we encourage you to apply. Our attendees include CEOs, founders, investors, entrepreneurs, corporate executives, philanthropists, innovators, creatives, and civic leaders who are in a position to make an impact through investment, business growth, mentorship, philanthropy, board service, or by sharing their expertise and networks.
